When it comes to recruiting talent, we prefer to “go slow, do it right.” An important way we do this is through selective and flexible arrangements with experienced industry hires and interns alike.
In 2008 we transitioned to a 100% virtual office model to facilitate work with clients and our network of business researchers, analysts, and consultants. So, we do not require relocation for the sake of being close to a home office. The most valuable consultants, however, live reasonably close to a well served airport.
Unlike larger consulting firms, our client approach is results value driven. Clients don’t pay until we’ve delivered agreed upon results. We also help clients keep costs low for our services by minimizing travel because we can perform most of our services away from client work sites. We rely heavily on internet technology to collaborate, which means travel less than 25% for most of us.
To be productive with the virtual office model, our team members must have superior communication and managerial abilities in addition to relevant functional or industry knowledge.
In 2009 we piloted an internship program for undergraduates. We now actively recruit internship students at 30 national universities via the iNET and UCAN consortia. Undergraduates can apply to all our internships through these two organizations online.
We currently handle experienced hire recruiting through outside search firms. We’re always looking to meet experienced professionals however, and so invite those with an interest in us to send their one-page resume with cover letter to:
